NODO’S STORY

Nodo is a contemporary way to celebrate traditional crafts. Fascinated by the slow process of creating entirely by hand, we make unique eco-friendly jewellery and accessories.

Founded in 2016 by artist and maker Sara Bellinato, Nodo is a London-based brand with Italian roots, focusing on creating wearable objects for everyday use with sustainability in mind.

The Italian word Nodo means knot.
The expression ‘fare un nodo’ , literally ‘tying a knot’, means keeping in mind something important that should not to be forgotten.

At Nodo we don’t want to forget the beauty in the practice of doing, truly celebrating the great craftsmanship that goes into designing and making.
We trust that Nodo’s greatest strength resides in its uniqueness, and in the beauty of handmade imperfection.

MY JOURNEY

Ciao, I'm Sara Bellinato the founder and maker of Nodo.
Originally from the North-East of Italy, I now reside in North-East of London, UK.

Growing up in the serene countryside, I dreamt of moving to a bustling city while embracing the slow-paced life of the periphery. As a child, I learned needlework from the talented women in my family, which sparked my fascination for crafts.

After obtaining my BA in Fine Arts, I took the big leap and moved to London to pursue jewellery design and silversmithing. Interestingly, it was amidst the fast-paced city life where I rediscovered the beauty of making things slowly.

Inspired by the art around me and local crafters, I decided to blend my skills in knitting and crocheting with my newfound knowledge in jewellery design.
This sparked the idea of creating a collection of contemporary jewellery and textile products that embody the essence of traditional crafts.
Thus, Nodo was born.

CORE VALUES

MAKING YOU HAPPY

Nodo’s mission is to design thoughtful and mindful pieces that resonate with conscious humans like you. I value your feedback and suggestions, and always strive to incorporate them in my designs. I’m available for commissions and bespoke pieces, get in touch if you’d like to discuss your ideas with me.

SUSTAINABILITY

Every time you shop from a sustainable independent brand you help make a positive change to the fashion industry, when you shop small you shop far more sustainably.

UNIQUENESS

The essence and soul of each item crafted by human hands. Although these accessories are reproducible, none of them would be exactly the same: they’d always carry the traces and flows of the hands who created them.

TIMELESSNESS

I can proudly say that Nodo is a slow-fashion brand, meaning I design with the aim of standing the test of time. I design and make for longevity and wish my accessories to be essential, simple and precious items to cherish for years.

CRAFTMANSHIP

My way to value traditional techniques and use the knowledge learned from the process. Nodo jewellery are inspired by traditional craft techniques and the natural qualities of the materials I use.
